This board is running like crap

I know this board shares on several sites like Politicalmachine and JoeUser amongst others, but its running like crap. It doesn't make sense since there is no search mode, no tracking of posts made or anything else that is tracking. It takes about two minutes to pull up a thread and many times will pull up the message that the operation has timed out. Its not like the board is being creamed by over posting, there is usually more than 10 minutes between posts. I think its because of the spammers who post those stupid links. Anonymous posting should not be allowed.

Actually, I think it's because of some tweaking they're doing over at WinCustomize.  Draginol said somthing about whatever's going on over there has been bringing JU to it's knees......


...but you're right, it's running awfully slow today.

I should make a front page news story on what's happening.

Here's the deal: The user database is shared by several websites as you noted. A big one is WinCustomize.com.  It was relaunched this week and it, combined with JU's increasing popularity are dragging down that particular database. Which makes everything very slow.  We're scrambling to improve perofrmance but it probably won't be particularly good until the end of this week.

Thanks for letting us know. I was showing a friend of mine this site last night I was at her house, and we were trying to access it from her computer. The site was hanging so badly, timing out, etc. that she is convinced that it was Zone Alarm blocking tons of spyware. I told her that is absolutely not true, but she doesn't believe me. Ya gotta get this fixed, mon.
