objectdock won't stay on bottom

i have objectdock set to "always on bottom" and yet it keeps coming on top of my programs. even if i set it to normal-z ordering, it still does that. how can i fix that?

Well, if you're not using the latest version of OD then I'd upgrade first and foremost. If you are using the latest version, make sure you have "Use mouse activation" unchecked, as this will cause the dock to *pop* in front of a program if you move your mouse over it.
