You need windowblinds to use the windowblinds smiley skin, desktopX is a different program.

If you mean the Smiley theme from the GUI Olympics site. That is not a DesktopX theme. That is a WindowBlinds skin. You'll need to install the WindowBlinds program before you can use that skin. You can find the shareware version of WindowBlinds here: http://www.windowblinds.net

Chris and Eic thank you both very much for your help so far. However, when I try to install the SMILEY theme with the WindowBlinds software it tells me that it can not find the .UIS file in the SMILEY .zip???? Any clues??

Thanks,
Tippy

Try this...

With windowblinds program open, click on install skin from disk. When the new dialog box opens, navigate to where you saved the smiley WB file, highlight the file, click ok. It will then load into the windowblinds program... hit apply, and you should be ok.

If that does not work, try re-downloading the smiley WB file, and re-do what I said above.
If that fails, then just wait and someone more experienced than me should be able to shed some light.

Good luck
(let us know how you got on though...)

Try right clicking on the download link at the GuiO site, and hitting "Save Target As", then save it to your computer. Then:
With windowblinds program open, click on install skin from disk. When the new dialog box opens, navigate to where you saved the smiley WB file, highlight the file, click ok. It will then load into the windowblinds program... hit apply, and you should be ok.

Try that.

What folder did you place the file into? What screen resolution are you running? The res may be effecting the DX theme but wont matter with WB.

Save the file to your desktop, if you did'nt already... easier to find that way.

Strange. I''ll go download it and see if it works for me. I dont have it yet.

Works for me.

Are you applying new skins through the Display Properties box, or WB Config? I''m using WB Config. What version of WB are you using?

Ok... just a thought... you are using windowblinds, and not theme manager, aren't you?

I did put it in folder on my desktop. My res is set to 1280 X 960 ...that should not matter hmmm It still will not find the file when I try to load it with the software I get the following message: "There appears to be no .uis file in this skin. Are you sure this is a WindowBlinds skin?" This is why I had originally installed DesktopX thinking that is the software I needed, but I was told to install windowblinds ...

Delete the smiley .wba file and re-download it....you might have a corrupt download if it's working for everyone else.

Is it the smiley in the featured skins shot by gef??? If so that is a DX theme ... if not then it has to be the windowblind skin. From where did you get the theme/skin???

I think Satans Child might have hit on something here, the wb skin is called Smile and the dx theme by gef is called Smiley

The Smiley WB skin should be smile.wba and be 1.15MB (1,188KB).

Doh!
Eric ...my brain's out of gear...I see you've already suggested Gaganjit re-download the file. So much for being able to read this morning

/me thinks he needs another more coffee
