Fences 4 – "Fences does not appear to be loaded" Error Persists After Purge Reinstall

Hi, 
I used Purge to uninstall and reinstall Fences 4, but I still receive the error "Fences does not appear to be loaded." Is there any solution to fix this? Thank you.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I believe there is known issue on older Fences version, which was resolved on newer Fences version. (v5 and 6) where if the saved layout get corrupted it will cause Explorer to restart every time Fences tried to load. If I remember correctly it was on Portal Fences issue. Until Fences disabled itself. What you can tried to do is removed those saved layout. 

From what I know, purge will not removed saved layout. The saved layout need to be removed manually. Refer here for the layout backup location: https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1331331082/Backup+and+Restore+the+Layout+of+Fences.

C:\Users\(Username)\AppData\Roaming\Stardock\Fences\Backups

Manually delete off those first, might help. Than try load Fences again. If it still have issue. Try reboot. And see if work. Report back.
