Recognize tabs within an app

I've set AltTabby to recognize tabs within an app (under the filter settings: “Recognize app tabs”). This works with Firefox, but not with my other programs, such as Betterbird, Textmaker, or PDF-XChange.
Is there a way to tell AltTabby that these programs can have their own tabs?
Or would it be possible to “override” the Alt+^ hotkey for these programs so that I can use this hotkey to switch between tabs within them?

It depends on how these tabs are exposed.  If they are entirely internal to the app then AltTabby would be unable to do this, but we will investigate this.
