Object Desktop Update and downloads and behavoir really frustrating at times (and getting worse)

It happens very often although my overall internet speed ist good and I can do evetythiung without hassle that Object Desktop client comes up not signed in and needs several attempts for login and takes forever to download updates or fresh installs or ist not able to download at all. 

This is a fresh PC and very advanced IT-user, so please don't work through Your check-list with me.  You can be sure, I've done that already. ;-)

Oh, and download from the stardock site is the same problem.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. I just tested, and I can download Multiplicity 4 directly from https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products, It take just few seconds. Perhaps, try different browser or VPN?

Downloads are hosted on much faster sites than before for most of the apps (cachefly.net) so they should be basically near instant.

I would certainly suspect a problem with the route between your ISP and the servers in this case.

If you use the download links on store.stardock.com, does it download quicker?

Not really. It is no constant problem. I have the impression that it is worse on weekends.
