Update messed up my display

The recent Fences 3 update destroyed my display configuration (using dual external monitors). Spent a long time fixing it, had to revert to a much earlier version of Fences 3.  Please let me know when you work out the kinks so I can update.  Thanks

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know which Windows 10 or 11 version you have on. Need its full version and OS Build number. Please use Winver.exe to get these number.

Thank you,

Hi. Thanks for this report, but this isn't a common thing we're hearing. Can you give more information and potentially screenshots? Thanks for the information. Generally, reverting to the old version is not going to help, and unsure why to revert after having had fixed it, if it needed fixing.

Thanks for clarifying.

I'm using Windows 11, version 25H2, Build 26200.8037

I don't have screenshots, as I already fixed the problem. However, the update completely messed up my display. Fences stopped working, my files were scattered on the desktop, and the system was confused about where my monitors were. I had to reconfigure the monitors in the display settings. That was the fix, then, rather than re-installing the update, which caused the problem, I installed an older version of Fences to be safe.

Hello,
From what I understand Fences 3 not really compatible with Windows 11. It is best to move forward to Fences 6. Especially since Fences 5 and 6 introduce new layout engine which should solve your issue on multi-monitors system.

Using the older version seems a bit more stable, so I think I’ll wait for the latest update before trying it. I’ve experienced something similar too, there’s a bit of system lag, but not as bad as the guy above. Better safe than sorry then.
