Download does not work

Tried to download DeskScapes 11

Hi,

 

I tried to download the trial version of DeskScapes 11 from

https://www.stardock.com/products/deskscapes/download-trial

the countdown starts and gets to 0. However, the download does not start. I tired a few different browsers and the result is the same:

Download does not start.

Please investigate and resolve.

If there is no issue on your side, please provide me with a direct download link.

Hi Christian

It's possible the download started and you just didn't see it.  The browser can be subtle in showing the download action.

Also, you can click the link to manually download.

Check your downloads folder to see if the file DeskScapes11_setup_sd.exe is there.

I have on all my browsers the Download history tab open. There is no file DeskScapes11_setup_sd.exe shown there. I have all browsers configured to ask me where to save a download to. If successful, I get a pop-up window showing me the file to be downloaded and where it will be downloaded to per default.

 

I just tried again. The download does not start.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I tested this one and I found the same issue using Firefox. But the issue don't appear if I use Edge or Opera browsers.

The latest Opera, Opera GX, and Firefox show the same symptoms. I then used the Thorium browser, disabled all extensions I had installed (a history cleaner, PDF converter, and uBlock Origin). Then the download worked flawlessly.

 

I have never seen such an issue on any other download page. This is quite strange.

 

Phew! Done and dusted.

Hello, 

Great, glad to hear you sort it out. But, as a test, do you have any add blocker extension running in your browser? Try disable that and see if the download start after countdown reach "0"

Hi Basj,

 

Download with Firefox did not work. It worked with LibreWolf. Before pasting the download link into the browser, I disabled uBlock Origin extension.

 

Since I only observed this problem with the Stardock website, I believe that this is a Stardock site issue.

 

I consider my issue resolved.

That is strange, on my system the download did start on Firefox with uBlock Origin disabled. It start as soon as the countdown get to "0". However we really appreciate your taking time in looking into it.
