Start11 2.60 start menu bug

  • Edition: Windows 11 Pro
  • Version: 25H2
  • Installed on: 2025-06-07
  • OS build: 26200.7623
  • Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.275.0

PC parts

  • CPU: AMD RYZEN 7 9800X3D 5.2GHz
  • GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 3080 10GB VENTUS 3X OC
  • RAM: Crucial Pro 32GB 2x16GB 6000MHz
  • MOBO: MSI B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI

After the update to 2.60 it's gone downhill massively. Now when I try pressing start menu with my mouse, it instead opens some other tab which I can only assume is the original Windows 11 start menu? But if I press the Windows key on my keyboard, then it opens up the correct menu I want.

This video below shows what I'm experiencing.

I also just noticed another issue where the entire taskbar + start menu is lagging, and I'm unable to press the correct items, since it thinks that spot is for something else??

When I closed chatterino down, Firefox now wants to open Hotmail up instead....????

Whatever is happening, my current experience of Start11 is shit compared to how it was just weeks ago, and I hope this can get fixed.
I suck at doing complex troubleshooting, but I'll try troubleshooting whatever I'm able to.

The issue seems to have gone away after restarting my pc, so now I feel dumb for having done this entire thing, but I'm going to keep the post up, in case other people are having the same issues.

I already saw 2–3 posts that sounded similar to my issues.

Also, I'm like 100% sure before hitting bed last night I couldn't press start menu to turn pc off, but didn't really think so much about it.

So consider this semi-fixed ?

It is important to reboot the system for Start11 to work properly. That is why we usually ask user to uninstall and reinstall with rebooting in between the processes. Some of Start11 files need to properly installed and configured to work properly along Windows system.

Yes, there were few reports on similar issue as yours. Most re-boothing would fix it, some simply restarting Explorer.exe helps. Others, happen due to conflicting software installed that also have control on the taskbar area. Namely, StartAllBack, ExplorerPatcher, OpenShell, DisplayFusion etc. Removing those software should work.
