Start11 taskbar has a broken calculator icon

The calculator icon, when pinned to the taskbar, shows the Windows Explorer, rather than the calculator. Not sure why. It was working fine for a few days, then suddenly it stopped.

I tried rebooting the computer, uninstalling, rebooting, then reinstalling. Nothing works.

I have Win11 25H2 and the latest Start11 that I downloaded from the site for trial 2 weeks ago.

How did you pin the Calculator to the Taskbar?

The best way to pin an app to the Taskbar is to open the app, and then right-click the Taskbar icon and select "Pin to taskbar."

That's normally how I do it.

I tried that way, or doing it from a desktop shortcut. Nothing worked.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Just to clarify something the issue is with the icon only? If you click on it does it still open up Calculator? Also is the issue only happen with Calculator? Can you pin to taskbar any other application without issue?

Thank you,

The other pinned application icons seem to be fine. Just calculator. When its' pinned to the taskbar while Start11 is running, it opens Windows Explorer / Files. If I click on the icon on the start menu, it's fine. If I uninstall Start11 (I have the calculator icon pinned to the taskbar) and return to the default Windows 11 taskbar, it's working fine again.

(FYI - I also have Files Explorer pinned to my taskbar because I use that often as well)

Please try, uninstall Start11, reboot immediately (important), download latest version available in your account product download page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products.  Install it, reboot immediately again. Retest it and report back.

If the issue still appear, need more details.

  1. Windows 11 full OS Build number. Use Winver.exe.
  2. Start11 full version number.
  3. Do you have any other application that also change your taskbar, such as DisplayFusion, StartAllBack, any 3rd party application which also add its own thing on your taskbar etc.

Thank you,

Still the same error with the calculator app.

No other app that alters the taskbar.

This is worth a try.

Open Run (win+R) and enter Shell:AppsFolder

In the resulting window that opens, find Calculator, right-click, and select Pin to taskbar.

Try this and report back.

I guess I need to reinstall? Every time it errors, I uninstall because I really need the calculator to work.

Reinstalled Start11 and tried this, but  didn't work.
