Start11 started returning Outlook items in search

Running the 2.6 beta -- today Start11 began returning Outlook contact records in response to alpha characters entered in the search bar.  So if I type an "A" which should return "AdvancedRun" instead it returned "Accredo" whifh is a contact record in MS Outlook.

Performed clean reinstall of Start11, and also issued a rebuild command to the indexer in Windows.  Same behavior.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I can not reproduce your issue on my system. Need more information on your system.

  1. Windows 10 or 11? Also need its full version and OS Build number. Please use Winver.exe.
  2. Post screenshot of this Start11 Search setting.

Here is what I get on my system.

Thank you.
Basj,
Stardock Community Assistant.

Thanks for the reply.  MS Office updated today and that probably caused the problem.

I uninstalled Start11 because I don't want you to insult me by spanking me for running an Windows Insider version.

That was uncalled for. basj was trying to help you and needed information to do so effectively. His manners and patience should not be impugned.

Stardock does not officially support dev/insider releases of W11 for very good reason: MS releases versions at a pace no one can keep up with, and why make the effort if more releases are coming in short order. Your reply seems to imply that you know that, already. Stardock simply doesn't have that kind of dev time to squander.

Yeah I've been a customer for 12 years I know the deal.  And yes it is called for, since that is their policy.

As soon as you tell them you're running Windows Insider version they lock you out of support for your issue.

I'm not gonna argue if/when you reply that it is a reasonable position to take when a customer asks for help.

I would argue back that today's Insider version is tomorrow's release version -- so they're gonna have to support it sooner than later anyway.  It's just a lazy, insulting response to a paying customer.

But thanks for sharing.

So, you knew which versions of Windows the software supported before you purchased it. You can try asking for a refund. Also, the experiments MS runs don't necessarily make it to the RTM version.

I believe the topic has run its course. Locking the thread.
