Sure are a lot of white dwarf stars

I was just wondering how many billions of years in the future Gal Civ is supposed to take place, since the galaxy is littered with stellar remnants?  From a game play point of view, it kinda sucks to have 55% dead white dwarf systems.  And raising the number of "stars" to abundant just yields even more of these.

I bought the Terran Alliance DLC (so now I'm back to having all of the DLCs) in case it was something fixable that way, but no.

Yeah, the star placement is broken in 3.1.  I reported in Discord that the abundant setting doesn't really work any more, but we'll have to wait awhile before they adjust it.  Meantime I've found that rerolling a couple of times can get you a staring sector with a tolerable number of white dwarf stars.  One good thing is that you won't run out of energy sources close to home }:)
