Does Anyone Know of a Fences Equivalent for Mac?

I know it has frequently been asked if Stardock would create Fences for Mac, but that is NOT what I'm asking.  I'm wondering if anyone knows of a product similar to Fences that is for Mac.  I have both a Win 11 desktop and MacBook Pro, and the dock in macOS is frankly for crap.

Thanks for any thought you might have,

David

DrJBHL, thanks for that.  I had not been aware of alternativeto.net, which seems like something I should have been aware of long ago.  And at first glance Sparkle AI looks like it might do the trick.  Again, thanks.

Hi David,

Correct, closest to Fences on Mac is the app "Desktop Groups" https://apps.apple.com/us/app/desktop-groups/id542912361?mt=12 which is quite old, but according to the App Store does still work.

There are also apps like Unclutter, which provide a dock like functionality, and others similar. https://unclutterapp.com/

Sparkle exists, but is more of an AI-powered auto-folder-maker that overall doesn't have much functionality, and in our use did not make good assumptions about how to auto-organize. If anything it was destructive, by ruining the "Date added to folder" metadata. So, we don't recommend it's use. Feel free to give it a try, but MacOS's built in Desktop Stacks functionality likely gives just as much boost.

We've considered bringing Fences to the Mac, but just haven't seen a market for it at this time. If these apps don't do it for you and you have thoughts to share, we're welcome to hear. Thanks again for the question
