Starbase Range Increase not retroactive?

I picked up the Inventive trait (+2 starbase range) and while it shows up in the UI, it's not picking up any new resources that are now in range. And the problem is that I placed my starbases specifically to take advantage of the increased range.

There are no other civ starbases in range taking those resources. It's just not grabbing these new resources.

Do I need to wait a couple of turns? Pick up a mining upgrade to recalculate resources in range? Or am I just screwed and I should have not planned for that when placing my bases?

I get what you mean about the Starbase range increase not being retroactive it can be a bit disappointing when existing starbases don’t automatically get the boost. From my experience, these upgrades usually only apply to new builds, so older starbases need to be upgraded or replaced to take advantage of the changes. I have also noticed that certain modules, like some 5thaxis components can sometimes help extend range or improve efficiency, so it might be worth checking if they interact with your existing starbases. Out of curiosity, how have you been managing your older starbases since the update do you leave them as they are or try to phase them into the new range network?

Many upgrades do not take effect till the next turn

I have in the past had these upgrade next turn

However, I have not "upgraded" a Starbase in several patches so it may I say MAY have been broken by one and no one else seen it to report
