Start11 v2 no keyboard input on startup

windows 11

Using start11 v2  2.56  on windows 11 25h2 or 23h2  on dell laptop 3511 or 3535. After using start 11 shutdown  on next boot unable to use keyboard to enter password or pin.  Have to re boot (restart) to get the keyboard to work.  Under normal windows 11 menu this does not happen. I created a script using shutdown /s /f /t 0   in start11  and that allows boot and keyboard to works.

Same issue if using start11 signoff option.  keyboard no longer works.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. It's a rather unusual one—if I recall correctly, I haven't seen similar reports from other users. It's possible there may be a conflict with Dell's preloaded software or another common application installed on both the 3511 and 3535 models.

To ensure Start11 is installed correctly, please try the following steps:

  1. Uninstall Start11.
  2. Reboot your system immediately (this step is important).
  3. Download the latest version from your product download page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products
  4. Install the new version.
  5. Reboot again right after installation.
  6. Test the issue and let us know the results.

Looking forward to your update!

Thank you,

The same results  BUT IT IS NOT START11   even the normal windows menu shutdown command does the same thing.

The pc were updated by windows update and did something when it updated a pc win10 to win11  and the other was a win11 vendor installed and it was updated by windows update.  Something is still running and jams up the keyboard.  My only get around it to execute a script that runs the full shutdown with parameters.   like this

C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe /s /f /t 0      for restart I have ti use

C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe /r /f /t 0

Thanks for the help
