You can also get this effect if an ally builds a Starbase at your planets and you rotate your orbital structures on top of his Starbase. The problem comes from the fact that you can't rotate allied structures.

On this issue, I'd like to say that from a Gameplay perspective it would be awesome if we could rotate structures of players we have a synergy pact with. Having a TEC player on support with double fortress and a Transcencia in the middle would be awesome!

Can allied players rotate their structures? As Vasari I just fly my starbases to wherever they need to go, or more rarely, from gravity well to gravity well, so I'm actually not sure if this has been implemented. It would be useful if teammates could reposition their starbases!!!

I usually play with an Enclave-Wrath group so there can be a lot of fixed position starbases and some team defences. If a frontline is the phase lane to the 'north' but then an attack comes in from another direction e.g. east or west, the owner of the gravity well can reposition his defences. Are allies locked to their original point?

As an aside, splitting military orbits and civilian orbits would be useful. It's a pain clicking to rotate turrets, but with the orbit point fixed to whatever civilian structure I first placed instead of defences I didn't expect to need or only built later.
