Missing Workshop Upload — Star Control: Origins (Mobius / Millennium Falcon Ship)

Hi all,

 

I’m hoping for some help regarding a missing Star Control: Origins Workshop upload.

 

I had previously created a Millennium Falcon (YT-1300) ship design that was available on the Steam Workshop for quite a while. It had been well received by the community and was visible in search results for years — but recently I noticed it has disappeared entirely, with no notice or explanation from Steam.

 

I can still see the ship listed under my own Workshop items (as if it’s hidden), but it no longer appears publicly. Steam support referred me to Stardock, and my ticket SSN-94081 received a response suggesting I post here for further assistance.

 

I’d really appreciate any help determining whether the upload was removed automatically, flagged for some reason, or if there’s a way to have it reinstated, and I'm more than willing to make appropriate changes (name, etc).

Hi Mobius 9,

To clarify, if you're not logged into your Steam account, does the Workshop item you're looking for appear in a search? 

I tried searching "Millenium Falcon" while not logged in, here:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/271260/workshop/

I seem to be able to find yours when I attempt this.

Hi, thanks for the reply,

I found it as well, on page 3. I also found out more about the way steam handles workshop content under the hood, and long story short, I'm an idiot. I though it was gone completely, because when I came back to it, it wasn't even on the first page anymore, and I must've missed it when i first looked though manually. It basically went from #1 to #79 practically overnight at some point. I hadn't been updating it or anything for a very long time and Steam deemed it sort of inactive and it affected it's position without any warning. Sorry to pester you with this, I'll update it and see if that gives it a boost. Thanks again for the reply!
