Vertical Taskbars

  1. Hi I'm using windowblinds 10 and skin studio, and I'm trying to get vertical taskbars to work. I have created vertical button variants as well but they don't seem to work. The vertical taskbar section doesn't seem to apply any of the graphics. Is there something I need to turn on? Another way to activate vertical taskbars?

I've been struggling with this for a few months now, and I don't know where else to turn to for help(I've been on Stardock the discord).

I tested on Windows 10 with WB10.89 with Start10 1.98. But, I don't see issue. Please test applying "Latana" skin and post a screenshot showing us your issue. That might help us understand your issue.

Thank you,

So I applied Lantana and on the surface it looks fine, but my issue lies with skinning the the vertical taskbar.

I did a simple edit where I turned the taskbar buttons 90 degree counterclockwise to make "vertical buttons", and then I tried to apply the skin from Skin Studio.

In the screenshot below, you can see in Skin Studio that the button shows correctly there, but on the vertical taskbar it still uses the horizontal taskbar buttons. This is the issue I've been having with my own skin.

I need the button to be different for the vertical taskbar.

Yes, the horizontal taskbar buttons are forced to be used in the vertical taskbar. Not really sure if it can be fixed, but I have hoped Stardock could do something about that over the years.

That's a bummer, but it feels like the likely explanation at this point. Sucks because I do keep my taskbar on the right side. I'll just have to alter my buttons and keep the previous design incase anything changes.

I've since just reworked the entire taskbar, but I had a really need idea going before. I definitely feel frustrated though, I really want to skin windows 10 elements. I love the concept of tiles and being able to skin that would be incredible, or even just to skin/get rid of the explorer file menu bar with that annoying white line.

I'll have to move onto windows 11 pretty soon anyway though, and I have no idea what to expect.
