Multiple Display configuration with offset alignment causes cursor to jump to edge of working grid.

If the cursor was to hit the bottom right position of Monitor #1 where there is an offset to reach AWM18(1) then it will immediately jump to the bottom right position of AWM18(1).  I would expect the cursor or mouse movement to freeze or stop if there isn't a screen area to transit to.

I can't seem to find a way to stop this behavior and was hoping it was addressed in the beta, but the beta has the same behavior.

Best regards,

Upon further testing I also determined that at times when the mouse cursor attempts to leave the bottom right corner of  Monitor 1 it will often transit to bottom left of AWM18(3) monitor, which essentially jumps the gap under AWM18(1) and continues through AWM18(3).

Why this is frustrating is that the Windows messaging, system clock etc. are located in the bottom right corner of Monitor 1 and just touching the edge of the monitor boundary will send the mouse cursor elsewhere.

Hey,

Just curious how long it takes for a developer to even acknowledge this is something they may look at?

Not sure what "We appreciate your feedback and patience." means in this context.

Hey,

I really hate to 'have' to start being critical.

To begin with I really appreciate you as an intermediary to Technical Support and please to don't take what I am going to say as any disrespect to you!

[Stardock Support = Nonexistent]

I’ve been waiting weeks for Stardock technical support to even acknowledge my issue. The only responses I’ve received have been from a community forum advisor, who said twice that they forwarded my case. Stardock themselves? Just one empty acknowledgment and then total silence.

This is absolutely unacceptable. Paying customers should not be ignored while community volunteers do all the legwork. If this is what passes as “support,” then Stardock clearly doesn’t value its customers.

The issue here is the software is working as it was told to.

There is a path to the third monitor from the main computer.  Now why would it act like that I imagine you will ask, it is because Multiplicity is designed to allow you to have a computer turned off in which case it would skip large areas in the grid to find the next available machine, or you may have monitors which are aligned say right which you would still want to be able to access.

In this case it is not another machine it connects to, but a monitor.

Unfortunately this has never been reported to us before which is why it has not been addressed.  I would imagine the number of people who have intentionally misaligned monitors like this is pretty small hence it never having come up before.

We will see about tweaking it to have a setting to ignore large gaps in this situation for future updates.

Thanks for letting us know.

"The issue here is the software is working as it was told to."

Then maybe you  need to consider other options as this is not normal in other software that does similar.

" I would imagine the number of people who have intentionally misaligned monitors like this is pretty small"

Are you kidding me, save that for somebody else!

Did you view the image and if you did it certainly doesn't imply an 'intentional' misalignment.  We can't physically align the bottoms on the furniture that is hosting these monitors. Our monitors are of different sizes, but maybe your intentional belittling wouldn't understand that!  What a piece!

And it took you how many weeks to tell me "It's normal..."???

That is your Official Response from Stardock regarding the issue you are having with your setup of Multiplicity.

The salient phrase is "never reported to us before" and yet the product is Decades old.

Now that it has been reported it can be looked into  ;)

Hey,

Thanks so much.  I am surprised nobody has ever complained or put 2 systems side-by-side with differing monitor heights.  I guess my config is a bit unique in that the taller monitor height is on the left with movement towards a shorter monitor height to the right resulting in this unintended offset.

I probably have to search for my cursor 30-50 times per work session as it would be inadvertently sent somewhere else I didn't intend for it.

Best regards,

Bill
