"unlock desktop" notice when right-clicking desktop

Recent installation of Start11 v2

I have been a happy user of Fences products for many years and just recently purchased and installed Start11 v2 on my windows11 pc. Shortly after that (a few days I think), when I right-clicked either the desktop or an icon on the desktop, instead of the context menu displaying I got a notice saying "unlock desktop." No context menu. Very annoying.

After trying different supposed solutions I consulted an AI program that suggested third-party software such as desktop managers were the top possible offenders. After uninstalling both Fences and Start11 v2, the problem went away.

I will re-install Fences because of years of problem-free use. I will probably not re-install Start11 v2 at this time.

Just something to watch out for. Input from Startdock welcome!

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, this is the first time I read about, "unlock desktop" having to do with Start11. I don't think Start11 has any control on your desktop or desktop context menu. You sure its from Start11? Have you tried reinstall Start11, reboot immediately, and retest the issue?

Also, if you have Windows Pro, you could test install in Windows Sandbox and see if the issue also appear while in the Sandbox.

Thank you,

Great, when you done with Sandbox testing, please do try reinstall Start11 in your main machine. Remember reboot immediately after install is done. Retest it and report back.

As a guess I would say you may have enabled some sort of desktop lockdown option in Fences.

Start11 does not have such functionality so shouldn't be causing that.
