How to be sure that a DLC is active...

Hello,

I have just acquired Galactic Civilizations on Steam, along with the available DLCs (including the DLC New Species, Megastructures, Tales of Centauron, Tales of the Armor, Warlords).

I understand that the DLC New Species brings the following new species: Eleseran, Glendorian; Phaelerian,.... The issue is that these new species are not available when I make my choice in the "Civilization to Lead" screen. I start having doubt on the fact that the DLC are active... and that the additional content is missing (beyond the new races). Annoying.

I have checked: the DLC are - per the Steam interface - all installed. See below.

How can I check that the whole content is active ? 

To start with the "available species" topic, I have access to 24 races + Random choice + Custom civilization. Is it complete, given the fact that the DLC New Species, Megastructures, Tales of Centauron, Tales of the Armor, Warlords are installed ?

More generally, how can I check that the DLCs are active and the content included ?
