Windows 11 24h2 - Explorerpatcher

Conflict

Before the upgrade to Win 11 24h2 everything was fine and good enough.

Windowblinds 11.06 and the latest version of EP worked well together before the Win 11 upgrade.

But after the upgrade to win 11 24h2 there is an issue with skinning of the taskbar. A portion of the taskbar gets ignored.

Are there any tips on how to resolve such an issue?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. From what I understand, Windowblinds need to be on  "unpatched" Windows Explorer to work properly. With a patched Explorer, it will always has risk that things might not work as expected. Perhaps, someone with more knowledge on Explorerpatcher would come along and share some tips.

Thank you,

Yes, Windowblinds works as intended 100%. The explorerpatcher is something extra to bring back the old style taskbar. But in the 24h2 update Microsoft removed the old code so now a lot of things have changed.

I also tried the start 11 and it just needs a little bit of modification to become exactly like the old taskbar.

There are several projects that are made to bring back the old taskbar feel. Both are free but none of them is able to do a perfect job. One is the explorer patcher and the other is Windhawk.

It would be so great if Stardock can work on start 11 to add a few features that can get it done.

Please let me know what our options are here.

I am in contact with the support teams on Github. Both EP and WH. but it seems that they have hit the limit and I know that a lot of people are still trying to do the same as me but are facing the same issues.
