I will buy this game.

After many years, the dragon still lives with me.

Many years ago, I expressed that I would not buy any other Stardock games ever, except the new Elemental game if it ever comes out.

I have no idea how Stardock games are these days; the last time I heard anything about Stardock was regarding the dispute over the Star Control IP. I guess... it is solved now?

That being said, I am very glad a new Elemental game is coming out, and I will definitely buy the game, as I promised.

I know this is a repeat of what I said many years ago; the Elemental Fallen Enchantress, as a game, was almost completed. The biggest problem of the game was (and still is) anachronous(simultaneous) turn system, as far as I believe.

Essentially, the game could not handle interactions when all pieces on the map move at the same time when a turn is being resolved. This causes AI to be unable to attack anything that moves away, and the auto-save never works because the game always tries to auto-save when an anachronous turn is being resolved, resulting in intermittent issues such as the positions of units being changed or just downright crashing.

I am not sure how much the game engine is being changed and improved, but I have a feeling this will still cause problems. Perhaps implementing classic turn instead of simultaneous turn would bring the real improvement for both the auto-save situation and AI issues. I am not sure whether you guys are aware of this issue (or I am wrong from the start regarding this issue), but fixing this turn issue would be a good start.

Of course, I could be dead wrong about the anachronous turn. But this is my experience from playing this game for a long time.

Anyway, thank you for bringing this Frenchaise back to life. I always feel the Elemental deserves better, and I am glad it is given another chance.

The main problem FE;LH had is being fixed as it is being made with a 64bit system as opposed to the 32bit that was the cause of most of the originals problems

Yes, moving from 32bit to 64bit is not really something that can be said as a mere improvement. It is recreating the engine from the start. So some of the persistent issues will probably not appear.

But, as long as the 64bit engine mimics the original 32bit engine, some of old issues, such as AIs being unable to attack moving targets, may still appear.

I also suspect a rare but serious bug, which garrisoned units get automatically kicked out when they are attacked repeatedly, is also probably caused by the anachronous turn system, but this is just my pure guess.
