Taskbar Preview Popups stopped working

Start11 v2 2.53

I've spent hours trying to figure out why a few days ago the window Preview thumbnails stopped appearing when I hover my mouse over active apps on the Taskbar.   It worked fine for the last 6 months...

I have been using Grok to help me figure this out to no Joy.

I tried to validate all the files from Steam, but Start11 is installed in the Program Files (86) folder.  So how can I validate/repair the install?  I wasn't sure if I could just download Start11 from here and try and install it again?

I have to say that I did use O&OShutup to enhance my privacy.  And I have the Taskbar at the 'top' of my widescreen, with my 2nd monitor below.  And Grok did have some settings in there for me to take a look at.

Also, I don't see any settings in Windows 11 on the taskbar to show or hide, or in Start11 either.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I believe there is no function in Start11 to show/hide/Control taskbar preview thumbnails. You can disable Start11 Enhance taskbar, this will than, from what I understand, return the taskbar to Windows default control. See if the preview thumbnails return. If it is not, perhaps you should look into Windows or any other application that also control your taskbar.

Thank you,

Thanks, I finally tracked down the cause.  It was a program called Alomware Toolbox that I use.  I don't see any settings in the app that would control this issue.  But if I close it, my preview windows popup find at my taskbar on the top of the monitor.

I've contacted the dev of that app, and he is usually quick with replies..  Fingers crossed...
