Hi, I would like to buy the Multylycies (5) of Fences around € 22. I created an account with my email. These 5 licenses will be installed on several PCs. A PC is mine, two PCs of my 2 grandchildren and finally the fourth on the pc of my granddaughter's girl. I would like to know how the installation and activation process works. If there are various modes can I see them all?

Another question. It is possible to make a backup of a complete desktop with portals etc and import it on another PC, I have a synchronized backup PC with OneDrive.

Hello,
With the 5 licenses pack, you should be able to activate Fences on 5 system. So, from what you mentioned it should work on those mentioned system. You just need to enter the activation keys on each system when you first activate it. You should able to manage your activation by using this guide: https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1260191763/How+to+review+and+manage+your+current+activations.

As for your second question, Fences is not a "file/system backup application". You could save your Fences layout and use the layout on another system. But it is just the layout not the physical files itself.

Can you confirm if I understand? First I create an account linked to my email, then I purchase 5 licenses and have 5 keys, right? Then I have to give the key to my nephew who activates his copy?

 

Regarding the backup, I wasn't referring to the copy of the files, which is done by OneDrive, but to the complete layout created on the first PC. Let's assume I have a backup of the data. If the PC crashes, I'll have to restart with a fresh installation. OneDrive will automatically copy all the data to its own folders. Then I install Fences. I have two questions: 1. Is it possible to restore the complete layout that was created on the PC before it crashed? Or do I have to start over from scratch, such as recreating the portals, moving the icons to the right place, etc.

The second question is, after reinstalling Fences, how does the reactivation work?

No, you will get only one key that are linked to your email. That same key can be use to activate 5 system. 

On your second question, if you do not turn off Fences automatic daily backup. It should restore to the latest saved daily backup. As long as the system was restore to its previous state without deviation. Such as all folders that linked in the portal Fences are at the same physical location and all the desktop icons/files/folder are restored.
