Cann't assign Civilizaition Policies

Hi,

I bought GalCiv IV and played a few turns until I discovered the Galactic Policies feature.

There are two available slots, but I can't activate any policy from the right-hand list.

Double-clicking a policy or using drag and drop doesn't work.

When I try to drag a policy from the right and drop it into one of the available slots, it doesn’t snap into place but instead returns to the list on the right.

Is this a bug or a feature?

Is there anything else I can try?

It is version 3.0

I have restarted the game as Yor. Same effect!

Then I have restarted the game as humans and it worked like expected.

Is this some sort of restriction or a bug?

Drag and drop them into the empty slots or clicking them should put them in the slots.

OP said those did not work.

I have had double clicking not work and if you do not hit the "sweet spot" drag and drop will not work.

That said.

Mage you might just need to be patient and drag and drop slowly or double click slower

If it continues a save game would help

I clicked and move 15 minutes it is not working.

It seems if it did not work directly it will not work throughout the session.

I restarted some games with different fractions. Sometime it works after researched the tech and sometimes not. Seems to be quite random.

Is this the right place to file a bug so it might be fixed in the future?

Are you trying to place a policy in an empty or a filled slot?

If filled, you have to empty it first

Just asking in case

Yes this is a good place for bug reports

It is only other players for the most part here today as the employees of Stardock are off work on Saturday and Sunday

It is a all or nothing thing.

I can drag&drop with replacement or I can not drop because it is not snapping in.

Interestingly it is decided on game start if that works or not.

So if it is after starting a session you see if that is working:

If yes, you can continue using it.

If no, you need to start a complete new game.

Thanks for your reply.

Ensure you've researched the technology or reached the civilization level that unlocks policies. Early in the game, even if the slots show, you sometimes can't use them until you meet certain requirements.

Verify if the policies have specific prerequisites (such as ideology points or approval ratings).

I thought about that but the UI is not giving me any feedback. But since I restart some games and it works or doesn't work on apparently random, I like to find a clue to reproduce that bug.

Any idea?

Hello mage! Could you share a save file via dropbox or google drive link for us to look at?
