Is Deskscapes 10 compatible with Win11 24H2

from Stardock Forums

Windows just updated.  Winver reports Windows 11 24H2 os build 26100.4061.  The computer itself is an Alienware m17 R3.  After the update my animated desktop was no longer animated, just still.  I uninstalled and re-downloaded/re-installed Deskscapes 10.  While the app shows the animated desktop in the preview window, my actual desktop is just a still image.  I've tried several animated desktops and they all do the same.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. From what I know Deskscapes 11 was released for Windows 11. And, most probably, Deskscapes 10 no longer compatible with current Windows 11 version.

It worked fine until I updated Windows this morning...now I have to buy a new version?

Unfortunately Microsoft changed how the desktop worked in 24H2 and DeskScapes 10 was not designed for that operating system.

DeskScapes 11 is however.

Help i'm having huge issues with this blinding white windows background nothing fixes it, deskscapes stopped working none of the colors are correct keeps failing to find dwm.exe, its all xxxx up even my contrast has rendered text unreadable.jesus christ how did you xxxx this up so bad?

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please create your own thread and supply us with more details on your system.

  1. Windows 10 or 11? Also need its version and OS Build number. Please use Winver.exe to get these.
  2. Deskscape version number.
  3. Animated or Static wallpapers?
  4. Monitor/s configuration, Resolutions, Orientation, Scale factors (100%, 125% 300% etc), Connection type, docking stations.
  5. Monitor Display managers running?
  6. Special Graphics drivers setting? Such as AMD Eyefinity etc.
  7. Any other details that might help us narrow down the issue.

It sounds like you have enabled high contrast themes on Windows?

I am unsure why you think DeskScapes is anything to do with this as it sounds like the dwm is not running so DeskScapes will be disabled.  It also cannot alter your contrast in the OS.
