More WB4 Troubles. Big ones!

Now in WB4 it skins scrollbars, etc. but it isn't skinning much stuff, and the only skin theme aware stuff box is blank. Also, when I set the scrollbar to big sizes(19 and up) it shows pink on the edges. When will WB skin ?

You can't display images from your HD. You'll have to upload it somewhere that you can link to from here. Try uploading the image as your screenshot so we can see what you are talking about.

Are you using a registered copy of WB?
Were you having these problems with earlier versions of WB?
Do you have problems with ALL skins or only a couple?
If only certain skins which ones cause you the problems?

I'm sure you'll be able to get the help you need here. Just be patient and we'll get things squared away.

I was afraid of that. I wish I could help, but I honestly have no clue about how WB works on Win98. And reading between the lines in the beta history notes, I know that Win98 and Win98SE especially posed some unique problems for the developers. There are several people who post regularly in the stardock.windowblinds and stardock.windowblinds.support newsgroups that use Win98, and you may find more help there, honestly. You might also try the #stardock chatroom. There are several folks that hang out there who may be able to give you more help.

Sorry I can''t be more helpful than this. Good luck, and I hope you resolve it soon.

It started a little while ago when I checked the skin only theme aware box, but when I unchecked it, alot that was skinned stopped skinning!
the thingy is this:
-
|Color \/ |
-
That's the best I can do. It is the color down box.

Are you talking about the custom color support? You might want to take this to the Help forum or send a message to Stardock's support folks because I'm not sure many here will be able to help with 98. I'm pretty sure that WB is significatly different in XP which I think a majority of people here use. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance..

Good Luck getting this fixed!

Not the color support. You know how in display on the skins(or apperance on xp) tab has these boxes with downs(combobox) and there's this mini one there too: It is a box with a color in it, with a little arrow beside it. There's another one of those in the background tab!

The image is there. It is from my HD. Why do you say I can't?

Right, that's exactly what I'm referring to. That little down with the colors in it is for custom color support. Here on my system when I click the arrow I get a little box with the following options:

1) A checkbox that says "Enable Colouring"
2) 12 color boxes
3) 2 buttons "More" and "Gamma"
4) a slider with values from 0% to 100%

Is this the box you are referring to? If not, I'm afraid the XP and 98 versions of WB are too different for me to be able to help you out on this problem. You'll need to get in touch with Stardock's technical support folks.

The reason you can't link to pictures on your HD from here is because there is no way for the website to go out and fetch the image every time someone requests this page. In order for other people to see the images you are posting you will have to upload them to a web server and link to that image.

It isn't skinned on xp either because in the help file it is not skinned. In display properties on the background tab there is a button that lets you choose the desktop color. WB does not skin it, but xp by default does. In the xp default theme the picture is the normal xp button image, with the desktop background color and a down arrow to choose the color. By default, the color is blue. There is more of these in the appearance tab after you click on the advanced button.

Meow, as a user of WIN98 SE since the very first of WindowBlinds and recently running both WIN98 SE + XP, the best thing i can tell you is that WindowBlinds 3.51.053 is running very fine with any skin under WIN98 SE (latest version is running as , but not so well i think)

To help you more i'll have to know what skin you're using and which version of WB you get, but as i could understand i think you may speak about a picture which is probably a .tga file and not a .bmp one (WIN98 doesn't like very much .tga's, specially if transparency and translucy is used in ...)

Since it worked and now it doesn't- have you tried uninstalling, reboot, then reinstalling WindowBlinds?

Yes. I was playing the pinball game that comes with windows and on one game it didn't skin and on the other it did skin. There are some other wierd things like that ocurring too.
