Please help me with the startegy as this Ocampa civilization, especially against this Chiton civilization (in 3.0)

I have just played a game as this Ocampa civilization and I lost because of this Chiton civilization achieving a prestige victory. I would like to ask you if you have any strategy advice, including on settings, that would help me avoid this in the future, as I will be starting a new game as the Ocampa tomorrow.

I have a little problem with winning any game since 3.0 came out.

Look at your victory status every so often.  You can tell if another civ is close to victory that way.

Hey, having majority of culture in a sector gives a lot of prestige points. This can be used, not only to get ahead, but also to throw someone down from the first place.

You can push their culture either through conquest, or culture starbases.

Conquest overall is a great tool to hinder score of your ai opponents, as it takes away points in fleet strenght, production, etc.
Just make sure to win, and not lose in a war :D
