Known issues

While we appreciate all feedback, please remember that we offer no official support for beta \ preview \ developer channel versions of Windows. If you report issues while in any of those early release channels, you should not expect them to be addressed unless it still exists in a retail version of Windows.

Hello, noticed a snapping regression going from Fences 6.00 to 6.05 beta.

In Layout i use a 32px spacing between groups. In 6.00 this also kept the same distance from the group to the screen edges when dragging a group near it. However after updating (and also on a clean install) to 6.05 Beta this spacing to the edges of the screen is no longer working. It still works between groups though.

This makes it a bit finicky to get consistent spacing if you have to eyeball the spacing from your group to the edge of the screen.

Hi xfade, thanks for pointing this out.

This was an intentional change by the team to address the opposite complaint, that when spacing is enabled it’s not possible to place a group up against the edge.

With this feedback in hand, is seems like the best solution is to have two snap points - one at the point of spaced away from the edge, and the second if one keeps pushing, flush against.

We’ll get this on their radar. Thank you!

Hi xfade just to update, the team took a look at this and was able to resolve. There are now two snap points – one using the spacing just off the edge of the screen, and then a second one flush against the edge if you continue to push. So, if you're gentle, you'll be able to access both, to make achieving even spacing simple.

Thanks again for writing in, and look out for an update likely a little later this month.
