Software Needed Before Win10 Sunsets

Moving from Win10 to Win11 on Computers that Win11 will not support

Hello Stardock,

Since the folks at Stardock have  a record of producing very good software at a reasonable cost there is a need for a good application for

those of us that want to upgrade to a new computer that Win11 will support but dread the program re-installation process.

What is needed is software that will not only move our data and files but will also move all of the application software as well. When you have been using your computer for several years locating and dealing with the reinstallation of programs (apps in the new vernacular) can be a real challenge, assuming that you can locate all of those CD's and install files!

Sadly Microsoft is pushing the installation of Win11 on us even if we don't want or need it. If I could run all of my highly technical programs on Linux I would certainly be moving to that operating system, but I can not take that route.

This is a looming problem that probably billions of computer users will face and could be a very lucrative market for the software developer than can produce an easy to use application that caan execute this task.

So Stardock are you up to the challenge?

Sam

You could clone your C: Drive and place it in the new computer, and then do an in place upgrade keeping apps and files intact. I believe there are also third party apps for moving to a new computer. I would recommend an internet search for "how to keep apps and files while moving to a new computer?"

Resistance isn't futile.

You can always say 'NO'.

It's only been the last 6 months or so that original Windows 7 apps have been no longer supported and made inoperable as they evolved and only functioning still in 10 or beyond.

All of them can be ignored anyway.

This OS was first turned on in January, 2016.  It outlived the M.2 drive it was installed on and was cloned to a new one.  That one's uptime is 3045 hours. [previous was 10 years].

Microsoft's push for hardware redundancy restricting the use of 11 to new hardware is borderline criminal and irresponsible.
