As the popularity of casino gaming grows. Many are finding themselves in casinos and with many choices on which games are the best ones to play. Casinos and river boats are great places to go for a night or weekend of entertainment. Unlike going to the theater or out to dinner and leaving there forty or fifty dollars lighter and with no chance of ever seeing your hard earned money again. If you walk into a casino and stick forty or fifty dollars into the slots, or use it at the tables, there is an ever so slight chance that you may just double or triple your money and go home with more than what you walked in with. I think this is what make the casino games so attractive and an exciting choice of entertainment for the people of today. On the other hand, many end up going home with a sick feeling because they dug too deep into their wallet and lost way more money than they had figured on losing. This is what I would like to talk a little about in this artical. Before you ever walk into a casino there are some things that the average Joe, (no pun intended) need to know. First and foremost, never use "hard money" to gamble with. Hard money is money that you will need for more important things like making your car, mortgage or rent payment. Money that you will need for gas or food. It is the money that if lost, will put you in a strong bind and hard press you. So remember to always bet with your head, never above it. Never gamble with hard money under any circumstances!
When we take a vacation, we normally set aside a certain amount of money that we know we have saved up and can afford to spend. This is the same thing we need to do when we intend to head off to the casino to gamble with our hard earned money. Set a certain amount aside to use for your gambling bankroll. If you can not control your gambling impulses then leave your "hard money" where you do not have access to it. Once you have lost your gambling bankroll to the house... Do not walk around trying to find the ATM machine so that you can draw out more cash to try and win back what you have already lost. Cut your loss right there. Call it a night and go home.
Another good time to quit and go home is when you double your bankroll. Normally by the time you do that and if you are lucky enough to do it, you will be getting tired anyway and its never a good idea to gamble at anything or any time when you are not fully rested and alert. Its always best to quit when you are ahead. Even if you are only up a little or breaking even. Always consider breaking even at a casino a winning night. For it is their job to remove money from your wallet and they are very skillful at doing it.
If you do lose your entire bankroll, and you have not lose any hard money, you can chalk it up as a fun night of entertainment, go home and sleep well, knowing you enjoyed yourself for the evening and didn't over spend.
Alot of casinos will serve their guests alcohol or mixed drinks for free or at a very low prices. Trust me, you may end up paying a very high price in the end if you take advantage of this little perk. Casino owners know that most people get lose with their money when they have had a few too many and that is why they are always very eager to serve you at such a seemingly small price. The best policy is to stay away from it completely while there and keep a straight head.
When you go into a casino especially if its your first time, you may feel a bit overwhelmed by the size of the place and all the different kinds of slot machines, gaming tables with their various games and rules. The many people there and all the noise coming from them and the slot machines are enough to startle anyone. It can certainly look like a pit of mass confusion if you are unfamiliar with this type of atmosphere. Don't allow any of this to intemidate you though. You will more than likely mull around a bit sticking a few coins into this machine or that one until you find one that you feel comfortable with and settle in for a bit of play.
Slot machines can be alot of fun and they are so easy to learn how to play. Sometimes I enjoy setting down at a slot machine and dropping a few quarters just to relax and soak in the atmosphere of the casino before I go scouting out a table for the real gambling.
Slots are set up to hold a certain percentage of what is put into them. The majority have about a 10% to 20% hold but they have been known to hold more or less. Casinos like to keep their slot machine's percentage hold set at low rates. They have come to discover that the machines that are set to hold a small percentage amount get much more play and make them more money than the ones that are set to hold a larger percentage amount. Not to mention the free advertising they receive by word of mouth proclaiming of lose slots. Just remember the old saying, "All that glitters, isn't gold."
Most of the games you will find in the casino are what is commomly known as games of chance. In other words, it takes no skill what-so-ever to play or win them. You put up your wager and whatever by chance pops up determines if you have won or lost. That is exactly what the slot machine is. A game of chance. Slot machines in my opinion are not the best place to invest your bankroll. Though you may want to keep a roll of quarters or two handy just to satisfy your curiousity and relieve your temptation of feeding them. If you do happen to hit something, thats great! Consider yourself lucky.
There is no system that you can use to beat a slot machine. In the long run, it is going to hold the percentage that it has been set to hold no matter what. Keep in mind too, the money that the casinos rake in from slot play is mainly what they have used to build and furnish the place. Then take a look around you... Not too shabby looking is it?
There is another game that you will see in many casinos. It is the called "Six Wheel" or as some say, "The Wheel of Fortune" It is a huge wheel that stands upright and is devided into some 48 seperate spaces. Those 48 spaces are sectioned off into 6 sections (with 8 spaces in each) thus giving the wheel it's name. The spaces tell you how much you will be paid, should the wheel land on that space after being hand spun. You can bet any amout you want up to a certain table limit which will be posted at the table. It will pay you 1 to 1, 2 to 1, 5 to 1, 10 to 1, 20 to 1, or 45 to 1. Most of the spaces on the wheel are 1's (about half) there are only a couple 20's and 2 45's but each is seperate so you would have to have money on them both to make sure you won the bet incase it did land on a 45 to 1 spot.
To make a long story short. There is no skill involved. This game is a come-on and has about a 66% hold so my advice to you would be steer clear of it.
There are many other table games in the casino as well. There is: Baccarat, Craps, Roulette, Keno, and Blackjack or 21, as some refer to it. Most have a built in percentage in favor of the house of course and then too, all except for Blackjack are considered to be mainly games of chance.
I find this fact appealing. Blackjack too, if played using the basic strategy and a good sound betting system is the ONLY game in the casino where the player has a very slight percentage advantage tilted in favor of the player. I find this fact very appealing.
This puts the game of Blackjack right at the top of my list of best games to play. Matter of fact, aside from plugging a few quarters into a slot machine once in awhile for the sport of it, Blackjack is the only game I will play in the casino.
Soon to come, I will be writting more articals on the game of Blackjack.
I will explain the general rules of the game and talk about how the player has a slight advantage over the house.
I will talk about card counting and why some say it helps them to win big bucks, when in reality it doesn't.
I'll tell you what size of a bankroll you will need to have with you for the different minimum bet table amounts.
I'll teach you how to use the house's money to bet big and win big and not your own.
I'll show you how to make your bankroll hold out until you can get on a good winning roll.
Best of all I am going to teach you a most easy and wonderful betting system that I have ever seen, so that you can win big and never lose more than the minimum bet amount on any given wager.
Sound too good to be true? Well you won't have to just take my word for it. You can buy the decks of cards and poker chips you will need to simulate a real blackjack game in the casino and practice your new system at home, keeping a record of your wins and loses. I recommend doing this before actual play in a real casino because it will build your confidence when it comes to wagering with real money. It will also help you to relax when you are at the real tables because you will have more of a feel for how the cards run and exactly what you are up against. You'll know excatly what to expect.
