Demigod - Invalid password

I've been playing Demigod with my friends recently, and last week I had a connection issue.  One of those where the game hangs while trying to connect, and when you back out your password slot is filled with garbage data.  However, ever since then I have been unable to log back in.  I keep getting an error that my password is invalid.  I know I'm using the proper password, as said I've been playing it recently.  I've followed all the steps in the FAQ, and none of the, helped.  I can't reset the password or make a new account as those pages are dead.  I want to be able to play this game with my friends again.

Hi Kailen4,

Thanks for posting.  I've confirmed your Stardock account should be able to activate with the license. 

Please try these steps to correct the issue:

1. Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time. A "Run" dialog box will pop up, please paste the path below into the "Open" field and press OK.

  • %ProgramData%\Stardock\

From the folders that pops up, delete the Demigod folder and all of its contents.  After you have deleted the folder, try launching the game again.  If prompted to activate, enter your Stardock account email address and password to proceed.

2. If this doesn't work, try clicking the "Reset Password" button from the Stardock Account registration window.  This should send an email with instructions for resetting the password to one that will work with your account email address.  If necessary, you could also try resetting the password with this link: https://www.stardock.com/accounts/resetpassword

Please let us know if this helps to resolve the issue.

I don't need my Stardock password reset.  I need my Demigod internet multiplayer password to work.  Right now, it does not.  And no, resetting the Stardock password did not enable me to log in to Demigod.  My account for Demigod is very old, back when the game was new on disc, so it's not an issue of activating.  It's an issue where it's somehow gotten corrupted and I can no longer log in.

I also am having this issue.  Fresh installed game the other day and managed to play a few rounds online with people.  Worked fine until it didn't.  I had this same issue a few years back and about a DECADE ago.  I don't think I did anything to fix it, someone at Stardock probably has to change some hidden account data for us, or refresh/reset a server that has blocked us out for some reason.

I tried deleting all the game files and certain ones on my pc, and also changing usernames and passwords on their site.  Got nothing! 

Good luck, maybe it'll fix on its own sometime soon!

 Hello, please try all the steps Abisnabidam provided. Demigod uses your Stardock account login. I confirmed this by changing my account password out of game which then required updating my account in game. Also, if your worried about deleting the game folder you can zip the folder before deleting it but this should be tried first. 

Regarding Zylinth's comment while it might have been an issue that resolved the problem 10 years ago it could have been something that was going on at the time.

Are you using the same Email address (try entering the email instead of a Username to see if this works) and password you use to sign in at www.stardock.com ?

If your email has changed at some point, it may be necessary to merge the records holding your game license.

Email address has not changed.  I have attempted to use the email address as well.  Everything was working fine until the weekend before last when the connection hung while trying to connect with another user.  This behavior is extremely common with the game, happens literally every time we try to play, we just have to keep trying with different hosts until it works.  Only, this time, I wasn't able to log in anymore.  And have not been able to since.

I'm having the same problem with MULTIPLAYER on Steam. I was able to start two games in multiplayer, crashed...got the fatal error notepad pop-up. Cannot get back into Multiplayer. I need my Multiplayer Password and/or Username. And Its NOT in my game.pref doc either! Please help. Tried all the above. "You have entered an invalid username and/or password". 

What can I do to play multiplayer? Btw, I've probably bought this game 3 times and have a disk somewhere. Tried everything above, delete demigod folder and used stardock password to validate, etc...

I am unsure what changed, but I tested again this week and I have finally been able to log in again.  I have not made any changes to the game since my previous attempt.  If it was indeed something done on your side, thank you.  I'm glad I can play the game with my friends again.
