What happens when subscription lapses for Stardock Object Desktop?

I understand I get no updates after subscription lapses. But can I still access and use the software on my PC? Is there a way to buy a permanent license for all of this? I really don't like the subscription model for software everyone is pushing.

From what's known to me,

I understand I get no updates after subscription lapses.

That is correct.

But can I still access and use the software on my PC?

Edit:

"Any NEW (non-Classic) Object Desktop Subscription purchased after May 2023 will see the software cease to function if the subscription is allowed to lapse. ‘New’ in this example means it has never been on the account prior, that it is a brand NEW license, not a ‘Renewed’ Classic license."

Stardock does not offer a permanent license to Object Desktop.

Together with the above, Stardock published a EULA which you can access here:

Please read thru this description of Object Desktop in the Support section.

I'm not sure.

According to the qualifications listed for the "update" option, if you own any of the programs that come with Object Dock, then you can upgrade for a reduced cost.

So I wonder if, since this would be an "update" for a previously and fully owned program, Object Dock would be grandfathered in and treated as an "owned" product rather than a subscription.

If not, I wonder if it would also make the previously and fully owned program now a subscriptioned program as well!

I looked through the documentations but I cannot find an solid answer to this which might also help the person with the initial question above.

This whole thing doesn't seem very well documented so far as I can tell.

If you have a question regarding this, you can go here:

https://stardock.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/4/group/14

And choose "Ask a question" at the bottom. A form will open. That's the ticket itself. Add all relevant documentation, screenshots, etc. If you don't see any answer in 72 hours (weekends not counted), check your email's spam folder.

This will create a Support ticket. Record your ticket number. Be patient: Don't resubmit until you get an answer as that will  kick your question to the end of the queue.

When Support answers, you can answer that response as you would a regular email - there's no need to create another ticket unless it's on an unrelated issue.

Your licenses will function the same as they always have during and after the OD subscription. Think of the OD subscription as an addition to what you already own.
