Icon Packager

Activation after server debacle.

It seems that after your server debacle IconPackager is no longer available through Object Desktop. I subsequently downloaded and installed it separately. Upon trying to activate it using my OD Key, I get the following error message: Unable to activate IconPackager. Please try again or contact support. (Error Code: -205).

According to online docs, this error code has something to do with the Computer Name apparently using non-Western characters or symbols. I have checked my computer name, even changed it, and it appears to be fine. I am wondering, does having a number in the name, such as "1", constitute a non-Western character? I've never had trouble with this before.

Is there possibly a problem with the IconPackager activation itself? Is this maybe the reason it is currently NOT available through OD? Any help with this matter would be appreciated.

P.S. This is the first time I've installed it since restoring my computer not more than 2 days before your servers went down.  Also, I checked and my subscription to OD is current.

Go to your Account Download page and click the three dots on the OD to open Product Key Info dialog. The Activations are listed by PC Name. You might need to deactivate the listings under the old PC Name.

I've actually already done that. Also, I tried doing offline activation and get the message that: "This product is not currently part of your subscription, and your subscription has expired. Please renew to activate."  However, I've checked my activation and it IS current. It even appears as though Stardock extended it as it was due to expire in August of this year and now shows 3/30/2026 as the expiration date.

The installer I downloaded is directly from My Downloads under my OD software downloads through my account. This doesn't seem to make a difference. Just proves that IP is part of my suite even though, trying to activate using my account credentials, the activator tells me it is not associated with my account. Unless this is because I did not purchase it separately.

Any other ideas or suggestions? I've tried everything I can think of. I'm beginning to think I may have to wait until Stardock finishes getting everything unmucked on their end. Hopefully they are already aware of this situation with IP and are currently working to fix it.
