FIXED: My log in observations.

All browsers

Hi.

A couple of observations re logging in issues.

On every browser, it’s the same thing.

After eventually gaining access to my account and the forums after jumping through various hoops:

  • Revisiting the forum after a while, shows me as not logged in (remember me is on)
  • Clicking the log in link just refreshes the page I am on.
  • Then… Leaving the Stardock tab open in my browser (any browser) and continuing on with other tabs for other forums or websites I have open, seems to have an affect. (Time is probably the answer)
    • Going back to the Stardock tab after a short period (1 to 5min) shows my User Account at the top right.

The simple observation, to me, is that the server seems to be taking a long time to identify me. Is that plausible?

It’s rather annoying but I don’t point blame at anyone for this, just an inconvenience for me, and more so, most likely Stardock.

Since you have only one account, I'd suggest

1) Clearing cookies, data and browsing history. Close that browser immediately after doing that and reboot.

2) Reopen that browser and navigate to the forums and logon with your user name and password.

Hopefully this will solve the problem which might be due to a bad cookie. Please report back.

Thanks, will check all that when my computer is free.

The only thing is, I never use Edge, ever, nor do I ever use Chrome, but I did, only to try and log in to Stardock. Meaning there were no cookies there in the first place that they could be bad.

Regards.

Thanks, all fixed. I hadn’t got round to trying your suggestion until now.

Much appreciated, very grateful
