Fences 5.88 Release Feedback Thread

With the Fences 5.88 release, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.  

Obtaining the product

Object Desktop members can get the release from within Object Desktop Manager 

Individual purchases (as well as Object Desktop Members) can also be obtained from your account page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

Reporting an issue

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)

  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen

  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post.  Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.

  • If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

I`m not a computer guy so this needs to be simple.  Been using Fences for years & just love it.  It`s always worked flawlessly until now.

I just upgraded and downloaded the new version 5.88 ( Revision 8 ) on Windows 11 Pro, Version 24HZ.

1) Under Personalization I cannot adjust the Fences appearances as a group ( All groups ) I have to adjust them all individually.

2) The current Fences cannot be moved or adjust the size, I can`t find a way to unlock it and is not showing  titlebar controls when I mouse over & the box is checked.
 
I`ve restarted the computer & even uninstalled & reinstalled to no avail.  What am I missing? Please help.

Did you, at one point, make visible the 'Lock Fences' option?

So apparently Fences did get locked. I unlocked it thanks to your help ( TY ). Now I can move the Fences & I have titlebar control but still cannot adjust color, fonts as a group.  I have to adjust each Fence individually.  How do I fix that please?

I downloaded the 5.89 Beta version.  Now I can change the font styles & size in "All groups" but I still cannot change the color of the fonts or fences in "All groups."  I have to adjust them individually.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. I can not reproduce your issue on my system. Need few more information.

  1. Windows 11 24H2 OS Build number. Please use Winver.exe to get it.
  2. Take a screenshot of all your Fences title, something like my screenshot below and post it here.
  3. Also, do you have any Fences name using special characters?

Yes. That is exactly how I`m doing it.

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.
