Multiplicity 4’s First Update is Now Available

Improving performance with better memory usage

At the end of 2024, we released Multiplicity 4 – the easiest way to work with multiple PCs on the same network. Packed with new features like Seamless Display ™, multi-monitor streaming, and a lot more, it’s a big upgrade from Multiplicity 3.

This week, we have released the first update for Multiplicity 4 that improves performance and makes it easier to diagnose remote connections that do not establish as expected. Along with bug fixes, there are several improvements to KVM mode as well.

If you haven't updated yet, you can manually search for the update by opening the Multiplicity 4 configuration panel, click About, and Check for Update.

With this release, KVM, using our proprietary ControlStream™ v4 technology, reduces the bandwidth used when a device is idle. Further, there are improvements to reduce memory usage and improvements to the performance of the streams too.

Multiplicity 4 is a software KVM that allows you to share a keyboard, mouse, and display across your network and is key part of Stardock’s growing home and enterprise software solutions.

All of the feedback to improve the application comes from feedback from users like you. If you haven’t joined our community you can talk with other Multiplicity and Windows users in our forum.

If you haven’t experienced Multiplicity 4 yet, you can download a free trial and learn more about the application on its website. And like all of Stardock’s innovative solutions, it is included in Object Desktop and Object Desktop for Business.

Great, but it is such a pity that is doesn't work on older windows system. Is it not possible to create a patch for this?

Is there going to be a Mac or Linux client in the future? Controlling PCs and servers is great, but some of us need cross platform support.

Which versions of Windows were you thinking of?

This is all fun and games so unless you have the pro version with KVM or the (2) computers are side by side then this seamless KM software is completely useless.   The purpose of downloading and using this software was to be able to control computers in different locations on my home network.   oh well ...

I am not sure I see the issue here.

If you don't have the version with the KVM mode then obviously the computers need to be local to you as you could not see the screens using Seamless otherwise.

I too am disappointed in the fact that it will NOT run on Windows 7. I use Windows 11 on my host but also need to use Windows 7 with a virtual machine running DOS. Works very well with Multiplicity 3 and would love the upgrade!!!

Kinda makes no sense why they wouldn't have integrated 7 also, as I'm sure there are a lot of users in a similar position on this.

I certainly hope they inform us should they decide to incorporate 7.

Thanks, Bob

At least it is pretty clear cut on how Multiplicity 4 should be purchased. I can recommend very confidently that "Multiplicity 4 pro" "permanent license version" is exactly how most people should be purchasing Multiplicity 4

Absolutely agree that Windows 7 x64 is a requirement.

I use an older physical machine running Windows 7 x64 which has an older SVHS video capture device installed. The drivers for this capture card are only available for Windows 7, and will not run on Windows 10 or 11.

Multiplicity 3 Pro works perfectly in KVM mode to access this Windows 7 system, very disappointed that Windows 7 support has been dropped from Multiplicity 4.
