Please move the saved games from 'appdata' to 'Documents\My Games' or some such. Saved and Recorded games can reach several gigabytes each, filling smaller install drives.

Title. I just noticed my C: was nearly full and after investigating, I found saved games from the 'AppData\Local\sins2\saved_games' and 'AppData\Local\sins2\recorded_games' were taking up over 40 GB. I understand this will go unnoticed by most people, but my C: is a 118GB Optane drive that's intended only for the OS and some programs. Everything else (games) are installed to a larger NVMe drive.

I couldn't find any way to change the save directly from within the Sins json or ini configuration files. Unfortunately, it's not possible to move the AppData directories in Windows without registry hacks - and Windows will typically revert those changes anyway.

Thank you!

Unfortunately, Microsoft no longer considers My Games a valid option, so some folks run into permission issues we can't fix. I would suggest using a symbolic link to workaround the space issues (https://www.howtogeek.com/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/).

I have been wondering why my OS disk drive has become full beyond capacity of late!  A lot of us have solid disk  drives exclusively for a fast OS and put everying else on a big second drive.  Way to go, Stardock.  I dont appreciate the gaslighting.

Are you using steam? Because you can change the directory path from Steam settings.

That's the problem. I do tell Steam to install all my games to D: which is an 4TB gen5 NVMe, but the saved games go onto the C: regardless, as that's where Windows places the appdata folders, and you can't really move them. You can tell Windows to relocate things like Documents, Pictures, etc - but not appdata.

I just created a junction link from appdata into my Documents on the D: drive, but haven't tested it again since. It's not an especially elegant solution, but I didn't know Microsoft had changed their guidelines to recommend saving game data to appdata knowing there's no way to move it. It's asinine, imo, but it's not Stardock's fault.
