Did something change with Commander Ships

Limited range

I started a game a few days ago (Jan 25, 2025) and the version is 2.94.  I'm playing as Torians.   I don't think the game started this way but now (Aug 3, 2311) my 3 small commander ships have very limited range and are useless.  Is that some change from an update?

The base ship range reduced in a recent update. Some ships like constructors and colony ships received life support modules. 

This is usually only an issue for the first few turns. You may need to build starbases to extend your range. I'll bring it up though about looking into the ship range of commander ships. Or research the logistics tech line that further increases your ship range.
