So in three threads, multiple days - multiple posts no one from Stardock has responded reference my issue.  Beta 2.52 still doesn't fix the issue, and a version prior to 2.5 that worked isn't available for download.  I will uninstall Start11 this weekend and test out Windhawk.  I am fed up with Stardock's failure to respond and failure to provide the tools we need to use the software properly (IE older downloads) and so if Windhawk works I will vote with my wallet and cease to buy your products any longer.  Nor will I renew my Multiplicity license when the time comes as there are alternatives for it as well I can use.

I want the taskbar at the top, and I need the right click flyout menu's for taskbar apps to work.  And being ignored is just making me irate.  I own a multipack for both Start11 and Multiplicity - for now.  Bad support and customer service will push me to use alternatives.

I am sorry your post seems to have been missed amongst all the feedback.

If it helps I believe you would encounter other issues if you were to roll back to 2.11 as based on your OS version number you have now updated to a preview patch of 24H2 which alters how things work.  This is the reason for the changes in v2.5.

Now to the issue in hand, given it only happens on one computer it seems likely there is something interfering with it.

The first thing I would try is set windows to use only the primary display and see if the problem continues (sign out and in again after changing).  I suspect it will.

If so my best guess is something is interfering with how Start11 works in the newer versions.  It would be enormously helpful if you can use the backup your settings option and send a copy of those settings as a private message to me.  This lets us use the exact settings you are using and also contains a little debug info which can help diagnose problems.

The most likely cause of this would be some sort of shell / explorer extension.

It would also be interesting to know what happens if you were to set Windows to use a vertical taskbar on the primary.  Where do the right click menus appear then?

Neil,

Thank you for the response.  I can't do any testing right now, it will have to be later in the day or this weekend.  I'll keep you posted.

Windows Version 24H2 OS Build 26100.2894

Vertical taskbar right side.

System tray does not function as it did in Win10. The icons are in a single vertical column which takes half the height of the screen. There is no option to resize the space allocated to system tray. Same problem for quick launch.

With system auto-hide enabled, the taskbar resize function did not work. Disabling system auto-hide resolved the problem.

Neil,

As mentioned privately - when the secondary monitors are disconnected, top taskbar works as intended.  When the taskbar is configured to use the left or right side there is a bit of odd 'bouncing' as the right click menus appear, and sometimes it takes doing it a second time but they do work even with the secondary monitors enabled.  Put the taskbar back at the top with multiple monitors and it doesn't work.

Hope that helps.

That sounds useful yes.  We will see about setting up a similar configuration to see what is going on there.

Hey
This issue has been happening to me for a while now.

Look like your issue is unique to your system. Please start your own thread so we can help you there. This will cut down on cross post with others user feedback.

Adding to this thread, as people mentioned above, the taskbar on 2nd monitor is not responding from time to time.  When you first click something on the main monitor , and then click on 2nd monitor any program on the taskbar, it will not respond on the first click.   Some times multiple click still not responding.   It seems like it's not even clicking on it.

This was resolved before.

You must uninstall start11, reboot and the reinstall Start11 and it should be fine.

I already have version 2.51 (not beta) installed and it's asking me to download again, days later.

Is that on automatic updates or a manual check for updates?

If you have Stardock folder in your Downloads folder, delete it.

If you are using Object Destktop manager to install, get the installer directly from your account page instead:

https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

Get it, install it, reboot.

Hi, thanks for replying.

Even when the Auto-check tells me there is a new version I don’t let Start11 install it. I always go to the server and download it myself. I find it quicker. Sometimes the install hangs if I let Start11 update itself, it’s always been slow.

Installation files are always removed from the downloads folder and renamed (as they should be upon download in my opinion) to the current build then stored on a secondary internal.

I simply ran the installer again, because I don’t currently have time to deal with it.

Thanks again.

After updating to 2.51 "Enhanced Taskbar" breaks YASB. Disabling the enhanced Taskbar displays YASB properly again. I'm running Windows 23H2 22631.4751

Had to downgrade the version back to 2.5. You seriously should offer older version to download because you're the trusted source and not some third-party website where I had to get version 2.5.

You may find the 2.52 beta helps with this as it resolved some issues with additional bars docked to screen edges.

While I like that vertical taskbar here is scrollable instead of being split to pages (native behavior in windows 10 and prior), there's a lot of room for improvement:

1. Currently, the only indication of taskbar overflowing is a faint scroll bar on the side, which blends on top of the accent line in Windows 10 style of icon rendering, so it only becomes clearly visible when you hover the cursor over it. there needs to be some sort of edge with shadow casted on nearby icon, at the top and bottom depending on scrolling position. typical solution that visually establishes the edge of the scrolling section where something goes under it.

2. When using trackpad, it's impossible to use two finger gestures to scroll the taskbar, so instead have to over over the scrollbar and scroll via dragging it. Quite clunky, shouldn't be that way.

3. Even worse when using touch, it's straight up impossible to scroll the taskbar at all. should be implemented via two finger scrolling gesture (currently all that does is moves around the icons with some heavy lags between motion and icon movement).

YASB might now be displayed properly (full width instead of being cut off) but it still doesn't preserve the space even in 2.52 Beta. If I disable "Enhaced Taskbar" it does though. So still an issue with your software. I'll never update anything anymore as long as it runs...

I'll just downgrade to 2.1.1 because that it the latest release I can find online that is not 2.5x since you guys don't provide older versions which is, as a software developer myself, absolutely horrendous because of bugs for each user individually. You can't seriously except users to keep the installer for old versions locally!

When third-parties provide a history of older versions to download but the company behind the software does not 🤷‍♂️ What a complete joke.

Start11 2.51 will cause main panel of QQ(version 9.7.23.29400 or previous, from Tencent) always hidden after login, and it won't appear by clicking taskbar icon or any other regular methods.

This issue will cause really big trouble for QQ(chat windows can be opened after taskbar icon twinkle, nothing else can do) ,I can solve this issue by changing some display settings(like resolution, scaling),the mian panel will show after that, but it will be hidden again after moving window or ReLogin. So that's just a temporary solution.

I just find this issue won't happen after uninstalling Start11 2.51,and also it had never been showed when I used previous version of Start11.So I guess Start11 2.51 cause this issue. My OS is Win11 Pro 24H2 Build 26100.3194.I will add a GIF for this issue later.

BTW,anyone got Start11 2.50 setup files for me?

Unfortunately due to QQ requiring a phone number in China it is not possible for us to test this.

Where is your taskbar positioned and does this continue if you disable enhanced taskbar in Start11?
