I've re thought my submission and decided to get better tools. If you now check my desktop you will notice I've changed it to something better. I'm not mad at anyone's comments, I was asking for them. It was crap. I just noticed that some guy made a wallpaper in "paint" and it looked like crap. I just figured there was a moderation on nudity or something naughty. Not regular pics. Thanks for the comments.

Wow. You took what the thread turned into rather well. Kudos to you. It's not just the tools though. Hopefully better tools will just enable you do better achieve what you want to do in the first place, by expanding the scope of what you can do technically. It's still the maker's eye that's key.

Asphyxiation, it's doubtful that one will make it either.  The sphere is, well, not spherical.  Shiny blobs are over used elements, and the lighting is wrong.  Try and think up an original concept, then take some time to do it.  Simple tools and filter fests typically don't have "good" results.

Oh, and the question about how many submissions we get and how many get through- it really depends on the day, so there really isn't a number.  But I will estimate that about 50% to 65% get through on average.

I seem to be having ThemeXP flashbacks with these bleeding WindowsXP walls. What ever happened to quality anymore... Lets make any crap and upload it as quick as possible, yep thats the way to do it "lets get more downloads with WindowsXP text on it! w00t!" oh wait i shifted another pixel Update!

Why not spend quality time making walls if you want it accepted? spend weeks... months even on how to make good quality Art, don't just make something in few hours and hell with it that will do. It's lazy and usually most people won't like what you produce, specially if its slaggered in WinXP text or some cheesy bryce blobby background.

Spend time on it, how you would like your desktop to look. Give it style keep it clean then when it satisfies you and looks clean stylish but not to cluttered share it if you wish. It's not a life or death situation I Must upload the dam thing.
