License Agreement

It is not clear to me as to whether I can use one Object Desktop ("OD") license key to activate OD on two different computers. In my case, one is a laptop and the second is a newly purchased desktop PC. Below in bold is what Stardock states:

"With an Object Desktop subscription, you can install our applications on up to five devices. You will also have access to any new products that are released while your subscription is active and you can also access early updates to existing products through our beta channels."

The above indicates to me that if I have a second install of OD on my desktop PC, I can use the same product key I'm using for my laptop for all OD apps with respect to the second install. So far, I have a second install of my desktop of CursorFX, Fences, and Multiplicity 4. At the moment, CursorFX and Fences are functional for the second install. However, it appears Multiplicity is not functional. Also, the License Info for the second install shows the Product Key is the same for both installs, however, regarding the second install there is a "PURCHASE" button indicating the product key is not working for the second install. Accordingly, I'm not clear as to whether I need to purchase a separate product key for the second install. Also, by the way, I search for Stardock's license agreement today and found one that indicated Stardock permits two installs using one product key, one on a laptop and one on a desktop. Then I see the above in bold that indicates something different. Then I also read in this form under a post titled "Dual Boot PC" in the OD forum a Stardock representative indicating that a second license would have to be purchased for a dual boot PC.  So, this begs the question as far as I'm concerned, what exactly is Stardock's policy regarding more than one install of OD on separate computers? The "PURCHASE" button should not be next to a valid Product Key, particularly when the current subscription for that key has not yet expired, as in my situation.  It should only show up when the subscription has expired and then it should say, "RENEW SUBSCRIPTION." In my case, the button says "PURCHASE" indicating my product key is not recognized as valid and therefore I need to purchase a separate product key for the second install.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I think you get confused somewhere when referring to some links. If I remember correctly, on the Dual boot, he was asking how many license is needed. It will be two since its on two different system. But, if purchase with Object Dock pack. It come with 5 activation, so that should cover for both system on dual boot, with another 3 activation available for any other Windows system.

On your issue with Multiplicity, most probably, due to you select pro version after the installation, which do not come under ObjectDock product pack. Object Desktop only come with Multiplicity 4. Here is a chart on what is different on different version of Multiplicity.

Thank you.

Actually, I tried to get Multiplicity 4 to work under my current Object Desktop product key which expires next March. At this point, Multiplicity 4 will not work for me on 3 computers--two laptops and one desktop. I'm looking to phase out one of the laptops, which I use for remote work, but this will take a bit of time until I can setup the desktop. In the meantime, I want to be able to use Multiplicity 4 with all 3. Multiplicity 3 does not work with more than 2 computers. So, I reinstalled Multiplicity 3 and at least I'm back to square one where I can use it for work with two of the three computers. At this point, I'm going to have to use another app. There are other options other than Multiplicity 4. At this point, though I can upgrade to Multiplicity 4, it will not work under my current product key. If this is the case, then I find it unacceptable because Multiplicity 4 is part of the currently offered Object Desktop bundle. If as an existing Object Desktop bundle user, I am required to purchase another product code just for Multiplicity 4, then it's time to look at alternatives. If it is not the case that I need to purchase another product key for Multiplicity 4 as someone that upgraded from Multiplicity 3, please let me know.

Under Multiplicity 4 it should work for KM function only. If I understand you correctly you re trying to use the KVM function which only available under Multiplicity 4 Pro and above. For you to use Multiplicity 4 Pro you will need to purchase an upgrade for it. Please refer to the chart I posted above to see what is under Multiplicity 4 and what is not. And, here on where to purchase upgrade on Multiplicity 4 Pro: https://www.stardock.com/products/multiplicity/.
