Unity Abilites 'Not Usable While Crippled'

In a game as Advent Wrath, after a certain point I was unable to use Unity abilities due to them becoming "Not usable while Crippled." I noticed this shortly after using Avatar on a starbase that was under attack (expired at time of screenshots), followed by Fury. The abilities remained in this state for the remaining hours of the game. Reloading the save had no effect.

Can confirm I had same issue

Though mine came after my fleet got destroyed while I was using wrath ability

Hello! The team is aware of this issue but also out on holiday, we expect them to get a fix out once they return early Jan

It happened to me too, much later into the match though (casual game screwing around vs easy AI).

 

IDK if this helps, but...

  • My fleet didn't get destroyed or anything like xxswatelitexx mentioned... I actually had a 3000+ supply fleet via mass mind control with Rapture spam, none of my 'cripple-able' ships had so much as a scratch on them.

  • I did use Avatar and Fury on a besieged Starbase, as Functional_Systems described in the original post. Maybe that's where the bug lives?

I wanted to add some info from my game yesterday where I ran into this. I had a starbase that was under attack. I had been using abilities up to this time. When my starbase went into crippled mode, after that, the unity abilities were no longer available. At least that is what seemed to have happened as I think that was the first instance of any of my capital/starbases being crippled.

Thank you for the additional details, do you happen to remember if any specific abilities, cap ship or otherwise were also used around this time?

Not at that location that I can remember as I was bringing in my fleet to try and support the starbase. It got there but not in time to save the starbase from being crippled.

I just finished a long multiplayer game, about eight hours and never had an issue as I did not let any of my ships or bases go into crippled status. I would move them out of combat before they got crippled and none of my starbases were threatened enough to have been crippled.
