Windows Update 24H2 - DeskScapes Issue

Ever since I ran Windows Update and upgraded to 24H2, two COV folders pop up and disappear quickly every 30 seconds in the taskbar. I used process monitor with a filter path that leads me to believe that this is related to DeskScapes. Please let me know if you have a fix for this. Thanks.

COV folders?

Do you have a slideshow set to every 30 seconds or so?

Yes, I have a slideshow set to change the wallpaper every 30 seconds using DeskScapes. Not sure what the COV folders are for though, as they pop up and disappear very quickly. Initially thought they might be some sort of malware, but I ran scans using several different pieces of software, and did not find anything. Process Monitor points to DeskScapes as the cause of this, which makes sense, given the timing.

Which process exactly?

Also are you using static images or videos?

The process that points me to DeskScapes as the cause of this in Process Monitor is DSHost.exe, which points to the following:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\DeskScapes\DSHost.exe

This is the primary process that shows up in Process Monitor when applying a filter for COV.

I am using both static images and videos for my wallpaper playlists in DeskScapes. This was not an issue prior to running the last Windows Update.

Upon upgrade to 24H2 I lost all Deskscape motion JPEGs and all show as static images.  It is definitely the 24H2 upgrade that is incompatible with Descapes.  All other motion apps and items work.   Any help?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Did you mean by mjpegs? Not sure if Deskscape capable to playback this format.

Which version of Deskscapes are you using?

You must use the very latest version to support 24h2.

Neil,

A BIG thanks.  I upgraded Deskscapes 11 to the latest and the motion returned.  It was the only remaining incompatible issue with 24H2.   The Stardock site was down for what seemed like months, and I was unable to download until this last week.
