I keep losing all my saves for single player games

Twice now I start up the game and I see that all my saves are gone, its random when it has done it, I had a random 6v6 single player game going, was several hours into it, and then the next day I tried to load into and all the save is gone from the menu. I was able to load into it twice before and now its just gone. this is now the second time I have lost a saved file single player campaign, and this is making it hard to keep playing the game. is there a fix for this?

Hello! Due to the systematic changes, unfortunately older saves aren’t supported on newer updates. However we do provide reversion steps to revert to the previous update build and finish your old save files in our changelogs, I’ve outlined the steps below

This update won't work with old save games and replays but you can still play them by using the previous version:

If you wish to finish up your game on the previous version, do the following:

  1. Select ‘Sins of a Solar Empire II’ in your Steam Library.

  2. Click the gear icon in the upper right.

  3. Select Properties → Betas

  4. Select 'previous_edition' from the Beta Participation dropdown.

  5. Steam will update you to the latest files.

  6. To switch to latest repeat step 4 and select ‘None’

If you're on steam you can temporarily disable updates while you play your old save game. If I'm understanding correctly, Sins 2 is still in development and will continue to keep updating for the foreseeable future. Each update causes old save files to be incompatible. But steam can disable those updates if you want to play an old save file before updating.
