Explorer.exe High Power Usage

Playlist issue

The task called explorer.exe is running higher than normal. I have identified the cause to be Deskscapes. After terminating Deskscapes tasks the explorer.exe task goes down to normal readings.

After extensive troubleshooting I have confirmed the cause. I deleted all the playlists I created (4 in my case) and this results with explorer.exe task running normally. The combined size of the files in the playlists total +4GB. All the files are mp4, graphic-intensive, hi-res (1920x1080 min.) and some are as long as 15 minutes in length.

Also, I have confirmed that it is not the files because I have applied the largest ones individually and the high cpu experience does not occur.

Please let me know if this is a Deskscapes limitation (for example, is there a maximum number of playlists, or a maximum number of files per playlist or size or combination of all this, etc.) and that I have overtasked the app and what solution, if any, is recommended.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. It might be due to codec issue, have you tried different video codec or try these different video settings and see if it help.

Thank you.

This app was originally set to EVR (default?). I tried the other two and both were glitchy.

HOWEVER, I decided to re-add my previous playlists and the cpu is back to normal (for the moment).

You mean, you rebuild the playlist, delete off the list and re-added it, yes? Do report back if the issue reappear.

The steps I did :

(CPU activity above normal)

1 - Delete each play list.

2 - Create new playlist and add 1 folder and select 'add folder contents and update for changes automatically' to the new playlist.

Steps 1 and 2 repeated for each playlist.

(CPU activity now normal)

These steps I did in the beginning. CPU issue develop AFTER much time pass.

I will monitor and report back if issue reappear

-thank you
