im cleaning out my closet (or something similar)

hey, i just wanted you all to know that, for a while, i am not going to be as active in skinning.

Reason:::
i am selling my computer and i am gonna build a new one for myself. i know it takes a while to build a computer and all and that is the reason that i am telling you all this.

another reason why i am telling you all this is because i want to know if there are any good cheap computer stores (online) where i can purchase towers, hard drives, videocards, etc. oh, and by good, i mean reliable also.

i will still occasionally check the message board from time to time and comment and all that but before i go, i will also submit a couple of skins (boots and logons)

so please, if any one knows any good online computer stores, please tell me so that i can speed up my "purchasing" process. oh, i forgot to tell you, the stores must be in the US of A. thanks.

oh, and after i am done, i will show you all what it looks like (my computer) alrightee. thanks for your help and dont forget to share your overwhelming knowledge of online computer stores.

wow those are some funky cases.

newegg is cool, i got my athlon from them. evil, anything Pentium is too much money i went hunting for a 428 pin p4 processor to go with a mainboard someone gave me.. for the same price as the one processor, i got an athlon 2800 processor and board kit with cooling fan. go athlon and pay much less and get - in my opinion, much more quality. i swear by the athlon chips...my 1.53 xp runs circles around the 2gig p4's at the office. they run hot but keep it cool and you get great graphics power. if you want REAL performance, head up to one of those 64 bit athlons you'll have to design your system in a compeltely different fashion but man is that thing smokin'.

I personally prefer the athlonXP, I just bought one myself, it runs HELLA fast, and yes, stick with the ddr ram, definitely(I paid 100 for my stinking case just cause it lights up in neon, but it has many fans cause I have scsi drives)

Anytime I order online, I order from Newegg. Very reliable and great prices.

AMD is better bang for your buck (2800+ T-Bred in my main rig). I also have a 9600XT but not Sapphire. $150 is nice but for about $224 you can get a 9800Pro; you plan on doing a lot of gaming? Don't skimp on Ram, get some nice Corsair PC3200 at the least.

Not trying to be put down any suggestions here, but I'd think twice about buying from Tiger Direct. That way may lay a lot of heartache and pain when you need support on whatever you buy from them. I say this not as a customer, but as an employee.

The company I work for used Tiger as its main reseller until they bought us. When they were our reseller, the after sales support on complete systems was not that great, and was totally non-existent on line items such as bare-bones kits, video cards, etc. Now it's even worse. (Been with the same company through two buy-outs over a period of three and a half years.) Just a heads up on that one.

You may want to check out http://amamax.com

They may not be the cheapest place on the web, but I have had some excellent experiences with them. I purchased a case from them with a 450 watt power supply not so long ago. They were out of stock on the power supply that they advertised, and just went ahead and upgraded it to a 550 watt power supply.... and they chucked in three 80mm case fans free of charge as well.

I ordered three fans, they sent six, and on enquiry, they said it was because of the inconvenience of having to change the PS on me. Now that's what I call taking care of your customer

the barebone kit i was gonna get is Link but the only thing i dont get is that it says it has ten bays right? wrong, it has Three 5.25", two removable 3.5" drive bays... kinda wierd, where are the other five???

The other bays will be internal...designed for harddrives.

My case has 4 x5.25, 3 x3.5 and a further 6 internal...
