Start11 Pinned Folder Location & copy from W11 Start Menu folder?)

Start11 Pinned Folder

Hi,

I have a bunch of apps pinned to my W11 start menu folder of c:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\

To save me trouble and time, can I copy these .lnk files to a specific Start11 folder to save time have to pin them.

A similar question, but seems like this is simple to do, but it is on doing the same copy actions such that if I pin a folder to the taskbar, I can copy the apps and .lnk files to this folder?

Thanks.

P.S. I did search the fourm and Google to find this answer and the only thing that came close is to edit the start8.ini file --I think.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. If you have Start11v2 there is Settings backup features that you can use to Backup and Restore the settings.

Thank you.

Thanks but that does not address my question.

I may be asking it poorly.

Where are the Statt11 v2.x pinned apps stored?

If you are using a Start11 style other than Windows 7 style or Modern style, there is an Advanced setting to "Synchronize pinned items from the OS menu with Start11 (sign out required)."

Start Menu>Configure menu>Advanced options

Try this and see if it accomplishes what you want.

Thank you. Wil check it out. It is good to know.

At the same time...IF I am using the Win7 and per the post from basj and do this per the manual info?

For pinned items to be carried over for the Win7 and Modern menu styles, you can copy all the shortcuts located here:

%appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\StartMenu
(copy \ paste that into Windows Explorer)

For WINDOWS 11 pinned items ON THE START MENU to be carried over for the Win7 and Modern menu styles, you can copy all the WINDOWS 11 pinned items ON THE START MENU shortcuts located here?

%appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\StartMenu

(copy \ paste that into Windows Explorer)

I added the words in CAPS to make the comment clearer.

Thoughts?

I'm not really sure about this, but good luck. ;)
