Thanks for the update:thumbsup:   This probably answers one of my questions about the Cosmic Contaminant. Does this patch apply to my existing 2.90 game?

PS: The patch note should probably read "Cosmic Contaminant" instead of "Containment^_^

The backwards compatibility is not guaranteed. It may work, or it may even bug your game. If you want to continue your save file you could try it out, and see if it runs properly :)

In light of recent events, it would be nice if we could play Galciv off-grid again.  If the power grid ever goes down or I decide to live in the upcoming tropical paradise of remote Alaska, that list of PC games you can play with just a laptop and a solar panel grows ever shorter.

First, I know you are joking, however.

AK will never be a tropical paradise first because the winters, you can drink from sundown to sun-up and still be on your first Mug. and the summers would be unbearable we played Softball at midnight and the field did not have lights the temp would be 120+F with 22+hours of sun.

Secondly do you remember the old "OFF" mosquito repellent commercials where the guy would put his arm in a gage of those pests, and it would be completely covered? In AK you would not need the cage to duplicate it.

I am serious thar bringing back PC games that are playable off-grid is a big deal, which is the main point.  If you don't agree, then okay.  I just can't buy your game.

The off grid I can agree with because not all have unlimited internet.

Of course, if they were to bring back DOS, they would be heroes and assured of going to Heaven.

I was just pointing out Alaska is not a place you would want to go "off grid"

Sometimes you don't have to go anywhere at all.  The storm finds you.  I can live with a diet of granola bars, a solar panel, and Civ6 to wait it out (I have literally been able to see my breath indoors playing Civ6, courtesy of an ice storm)..  But when you can't even play games, it's just miserable.

There are, of course, a small number of people who disagree with you about Alaska.  If it were a large number, it wouldn't be off-grid anymore.
